A thought from the Dominator…

It concerns me greatly that some members are continuing to ride with underpants under their Knicks and that longer standing members are allowing this to happen either in omission or schadenfreude.

Funny though it may be it will ultimately only bring discredit to the ER brand “oh yeh those guys who wear underpants” queue derisive laughter.

Moreover the medical hazards of this behavior to the wearer are well documented in cycling fora and blogs.

There is no Velominati Rule about this as it is a universal truth and it would be too embarrassing even to mention.

To the wearers I suggest for your own wellbeing and sangfroid said underpants should only be worn on designated Superhero days and then over your knicks.

About SatNav

SatNav: Lengthy taper 1995 - 2004. Started commuting in London because I didn't like paying rail fares. Returned home to Sydney and figured I still didn't like paying rail fares. A chance meeting at my daughter's baseball put me in touch with the ER's in 2008 and have never looked back (I'm never on the front to do so). Ride daily; haven't commuted by train since. Love it.

SA Chapter is horrorfied that this matter must be raised.

AG2R “brown knicks” must be better than the sad alternative. At worst I have on occasion worn knicks on knicks once the issue of transparency become transparent and/or rain/snow/mud/blood has soiled said first pair on inward leg.

It’s sans undies commando as a prerequisite or the ER brand will indeed suffer as much as your festering downstairs will.

Dom, you really do get to the crutch of the matter don’t you, but to underpant or not is only part the the dilema. Some ERs have overcome this two journey one pair of knicks challenge with the old ‘inside out’ shuffle technique. Not sure why they wore them pad out in the morning though, maybe to ensure a comfy trip home?
